Harley Davidson motorcycles price dropped by 25%!

With the budget dashing hopes of buyers across the country, manufacturers are on a spree to woo customers to their showrooms.Manufacturers selling imported motorcycles in the country are facing the heat too, given the increased import duties.Harley-Davidson however is keen on beating the heat this summer , and has added as many as three new models to its CKD lineup.Harley has added the iconic Fat Boy.Heritage Softail Classic and Fat Boy Special to its CKD family in India, and these are now assembled at Harley's facility in Bawal, Haryana.This has resulted in a significant price drop and the Fat Boy will now cost nearly 25% lesser,retailing at Rs.14.9 lakh ex-showroom,New Delhi as opposed to Rs.19.45 lakh earlier.The Fat Boy Special gets a similar price cut as well, and is now priced at 15.6 lakh ex-Delhi as compared to Rs.19.70 lakh earlier.The Heritage Softail gets a 20% price drop and is now priced at Rs.16.25 lakh ex-Delhi as opposed to Rs.20.45 lakh earlier.Harley-Davidson entered the Indian market via the CBU route in 2010, and launched the SuperLow and Iron 883 in early 2011 as CKD models.It currently sells 12 of its models in the country and with the Fat Boy, Fat Boy Special and Heritage Softail the count of CKD models goes up to nine.Harley is by far the most successful bike maker in the CBU/CKD motorcycle space in the country, and has sold well over 2000 motorcycles since 2010.
